The Business Services Department at Big Valley Joint Unified School District supports student success by ensuring the district’s financial and operational resources are managed responsibly, efficiently, and transparently.The department oversees budgeting and accounting, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable and receivable, employee benefits, food services, facilities and maintenance, state and federal financial reporting, and coordination of the district’s annual independent audit. We also assist employees, families, vendors, and community members with questions related to the district’s business operations.Our goal is to provide accurate, timely, and responsive service while maintaining fiscal accountability and maximizing the resources available for classrooms, student services, and educational programs. Through careful planning and responsible stewardship of public funds, Business Services helps preserve the district’s long-term financial stability and its ability to provide a high-quality education for every student.As part of our commitment to transparency and public accountability, the district makes important financial documents available to the community. These may include the adopted budget, interim financial reports, unaudited actuals, annual audit reports, budget presentations, and other required fiscal disclosures.We welcome questions from our staff, families, vendors, and community members.
